BIO

Patrick McGrath Muñiz is  Puerto Rican Artist whose primary mediums include oil on canvas and retablos, (a frame or shelf enclosing painted panels). His work is inspired by Old Master and Spanish colonial paintings while conveying underlying issues of colonialism, consumerism, climate change, and global pandemics. Muniz studied at the School of Fine Arts of San Juan for his BFA in 2003 and received his MFA at Savannah College of Arts in 2006. His work now has been featured in various private collections in the US as well as being featured in various museums internationally such as Museo de las Americas San Juan PR , Museo Convento Las Capuchinas in Antigua Guatemala, Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum in Mesa AZ, and more.

After losing his home in 2017 to Hurricane Maria, Muniz now has started a personal journey of retelling our current global paradigm, using his style as a forecast of the future by referencing lessons of the past, thus trying to create a dialogue of understanding toward the world around us.
